Born in Merthyr-Tydvil New Bridge, South Wales, son of Meridith Rees and Mary Donis. Conversion to Mormonism; immigration to Nauvoo, Illinois, labors ther as a blacksmith; exodus west; departure from his family at Council Bluffs, Iowa, while working at St. John to get a set of blacksmith tools; arrival in Salt Lake Valley, 1852; settlement in Brigham City, Utah, where he was a director of the United Order, 1863, under Lorenzo Snow; political activities in Brigham City, Utah; mission to Wales; election as Mayor of Brigham City, 1875; LDS Church positions; family data.

Snow, Lorenzo, 1814-1901

Lorenzo Snow was born 3 April 1814 in Mantua, Ohio. After being baptized a member of the Church, he served a mission in Ohio and the Eastern States. He was ordained to the office of Seventy in 1840. He served as President of the United Order in Brigham City from 1874-1886. He was ordained an apostle in 1849, after which he served missions to England and Europe.
